Cork Gay Hillwalking Club is affiliated to The Association of Gay Mountaineering and Hillwalking Clubs of Ireland. It developed from The Rainbow Ramblers, a group established by The Cork Gay Community Project in 2003.

We climb mainly in the spectacular mountain ranges of Kerry, Cork, Tipperary and Waterford; from the gentle slopes of the Knockmealdowns and Galtees to the somewhat steeper slopes of The Magillicuddy Reeks and The Brandon Ridge in the Dingle Peninsula.

The hikes are well within the capabilities of any moderately fit person. In fact we have had people joining the group who were not particularly fit but who quickly developed their "climbing legs". See our 2008 Schedule for details of this year's routes.

We climb on the 1st and 3rd Sunday of each month throughout the year, meeting in Cork City centre. For further details on where we meet, please contact one of the members in the Contact Us section. Each hike has a beginners and intermediate walk and we welcome new members to come along and join us.

For detailed information about the hike and what to wear see Hike Info section.
